Did you know that using hypnosis in the field of fertility and maternity care is rapidly gaining credibility within the medical professions?
A steady stream of evidence based research has been coming forward recently to support its use for
unexplained infertility, support for assisted fertility programs such as IVF and of course it’s ever popular use for birth preparation and pain control.
In its simplest form hypnosis is really just a way to help you create a bridge of awareness from your conscious everyday thoughts to the subconscious mind where all your templates of beliefs, behaviours and emotions are stored.
This is important because it gives you a powerful way to give your subconscious mind suggestions for what you do want to happen and what you do want to experience. Hypnotic suggestions themselves are very simple but at the same time every word is precious and each positive suggestion offered to the mind in this deeply relaxed state is carefully crafted to help you achieve the very best outcomes, quickly and easily.
It’s true that some people are put off by the very word hypnosis but it’s really just a state of naturally occurring and highly focused inner awareness. You naturally go in and out of trance every day, . . when you are entranced by a good book or movie for example, or those special times as you awaken in the morning and fall asleep at night when you are naturally in a trance like state.
It’s not as some people think a state of unconsciousness, you will still be perfectly aware of what is being said to you and even though you may be invited to close your eyes to help you narrow down your focus of awareness, it’s important to know that you always have full control and break the trance state at any time should you want to or need to.
So what are the secret ingredients that make a hypnosis session successful?
Really it’s very simple and comes down to the 3 key elements of desire, imagination and expectancy.
Your intention to have a successful outcome is essential.
You must genuinely desire to be, do or have what you want both consciously and unconsciously and one of the ways in which hypnosis can be so very helpful is in revealing and releasing any unconscious blocks that might be getting in the way of your conscious desires. Being able to use all of your senses to imagine a successful outcome and having an open hearted expectancy that you will be successful also sends powerful messages to your subconscious mind that it’s time to change.
So as well as being a wonderful tool for goal achievement hypnosis also allows you to influence many of the unconscious processes in your body, such as the management of your stress response or perception of pain for example.
Using these skills on your own often works just as well and self-hypnosis is really very easy to learn because at the end of the day the biggest factor in your success is YOU and your ability to practice with focused intention and a true desire to experience something better for yourself.
In short, hypnosis gives you an empowering way to create a better and brighter future and that is a skill that is well worth having.
